Install and Configure F5 License Proxy¶
The F5 License Proxy (FLP) efficiently licenses and manages BIG-IP Next for Kubernetes instances across all the clusters. FLP is installed at a location accessible to F5 License Manager (TEEMs) and BIG-IP Next for Kubernetes instances to manage licenses efficiently and configured with licenses (JWT) obtained from F5. Users can license BIG-IP Next for Kubernetes clusters directly in FLP mode or switch an already licensed cluster (either in connected or disconnected mode) to FLP mode seamlessly.
The F5 License Proxy (FLP) can be installed in a virtual machine (VM) using the FLP QCOW2 or OVA image, or in a Kubernetes cluster using Helm charts. Follow the appropriate instructions below based on your platform requirements.
Install FLP in a Kubernetes cluster using Helm charts¶
The F5 License Proxy (FLP) is included in the BIG-IP Next for Kubernetes manifest file. FLP Helm charts, Docker images, and other utilities are available from the F5 Artifact Registry (FAR). After downloading the FLP Helm charts, Docker images, and other utilities, users can set up FLP based on their configuration needs, either by using the utility tool or automating the installation process as part of a CI/CD pipeline with the required tools, configurations, and scripts.
