The metadata persistence state is unknown or is unsupported by iControl.

METADATA_EPHEMERAL

Do not save metadata to config file.

METADATA_PERSISTENT

Save metadata to configuration file, when the configuration is saved. Note that iControl does not save the configuration until instructed to do so.
