F5 BIG-IP Next for Kubernetes¶
F5 BIG-IP Next for Kubernetes (BNK) brings critical network capabilities to a Kubernetes environment to meet the demands of service provider networks. BIG-IP Next for Kubernetes is deployed as a Kubernetes resource at the North/South gateway, becoming part of the Kubernetes orchestration environment. F5 Cloud Native Network Functions (CNFs) extend F5 BIG-IP solutions into the container ecosystem.
BIG-IP Next for Kubernetes is designed to be Kubernetes‑native. You can deploy it in IaaS environments by using Helm or the F5 Lifecycle Operator (FLO), and manage it with standard tools including Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Gateway API. Designed following the Kubernetes Operator pattern, FLO manages BNK installation, upgrades, and rollbacks.
