Download your F5 Artifact Registry service-account key and license key

Introduction

Download your F5 Artifact Registry service-account key to log in to F5 Artifact Registry with Helm and Docker. Download your license key to license your cluster for the F5 BIG-IP Cloud-Native Edition products you install.

Definition: F5 Artifact Registry service-account key

Your F5 Artifact Registry service-account key is a Base64-encoded JSON object that includes a private key and other information.

Download the archive file for your F5 Artifact Registry service-account key from MyF5

  1. In a web browser on your computer, go to MyF5.

  2. Select the Downloads tile.

  3. If you aren’t already signed in to MyF5, follow the onscreen instructions to sign in.

  4. On the Downloads page, select the checkbox to indicate that you accept the F5 terms and conditions.

  5. Select Next.

  6. Use this table to determine which values to choose for the pop-up menus:

  7. Select the file named f5-far-auth-key.tgz.

  8. From the Download locations drop-down menu, select the location that is closest to you.

  9. Select Download.

Move and extract the archive file for your F5 Artifact Registry service-account key

  1. In a terminal window on your computer, make sure you’re in the F5 BIG-IP Cloud-Native Edition directory (for example, f5-big-ip-cne).

  2. Move the archive file for your F5 Artifact Registry service-account key from your downloads directory to the F5 BIG-IP Cloud-Native Edition directory.

    Example

    mv ~/Downloads/f5-far-auth-key.tgz ./

  3. Extract the archive file:

    tar zxvf f5-far-auth-key.tgz

    The F5 BIG-IP Cloud-Native Edition directory now contains your F5 Artifact Registry service-account key (cne_pull_64.json).

Definition: License key

Your license key is a JSON Web Token (JWT) that contains signed data.

Download your license key from MyF5

  1. In a web browser on your computer, go to MyF5.

  2. Go to My Products & Plans > Subscriptions to see your active subscriptions.

  3. Find the appropriate F5 BIG-IP Cloud-Native Edition subscription, and select its Subscription ID for details.

    Note

    From the list of subscriptions, it might not be obvious which subscription you want. Select a Subscription ID, and then check whether Product shows the product you want (for example, BIG-IP Next SPK for BIG-IP Next for Kubernetes). If you don’t see the product you want, return to the Subscriptions page and select another Subscription ID. Repeat this process until you find the correct product.

  4. Download the JSON Web Token (License key) file.

Move your license key

  1. In a terminal window on your computer, make sure you’re in the F5 BIG-IP Cloud-Native Edition directory (for example, f5-big-ip-cne).

  2. Move the license key from your downloads directory to the F5 BIG-IP Cloud-Native Edition directory.

    Example

    mv ~/Downloads/SFA-1515255-F5-subscription-2.jwt ./

    The F5 BIG-IP Cloud-Native Edition directory now contains your license key.
