This documentation set splits day-2 administration from platform-specific setup into two areas. Use this page to understand the distinction and find the right guide.
Admin guide¶
The Admin Guide (this section) covers tasks that apply to F5 Insight regardless of the platform it runs on:
- First login and initial setup
- Static IP address configuration
- Licensing and entitlements
- External authentication and role-based access control (RBAC)
- Network configuration, device certificates, disk utilities, the metrics proxy, and troubleshooting
Deployment guide¶
The Deployment Guide covers platform-specific installation methods for getting F5 Insight running on a given hypervisor or infrastructure provider:

Start with the Deployment Guide to install F5 Insight on your platform of choice, then return to the Admin Guide to complete first login, licensing, and ongoing administration.
