A significant amount of time spent in this state suggests TMM is sending at the maximum possible egress data speed, since it is being limited by the remote endpoint receiving the data. If the goodput is lower than expected for the path, the remote endpoint must be adjusted to increase its receive window size to be more ideally tuned to the BDP (bandwidth-delay product) of the path. You may consider enabling slow start, using a less aggressive congestion algorithm, or adjusting packet loss ignore settings to ignore fewer packet losses, and allow congestion control to take effect sooner. delay_state_waitforack	f5.profile_tcp.delay_state_waitforack	The number of milliseconds that connections have been unable to send data because they have already sent all available data they have received. In this case, the connections are also expecting an ACK to data that has been sent, but that is not causing the delay since there is no available data to send. A significant amount of time spent in this state suggests that data is being sent to the remote endpoint faster than it is arriving or being processed by Big-IP. One possibility is an idle server that is only occasionally sending small chunks of data. If this is not the case, we should direct our attention to the traffic being received by TMM on the other half of the proxied connection. From the perspective of that remote endpoint sending data to TMM, it may be limited by packet loss / congestion control, or TMM’s receive window size. If the former, the path may be saturated, or the congestion algorithm on the server may need adjustment. If the latter, TMM’s receive window size should be increased or receive window auto-tuning should be enabled. If this does not solve the issue, there may be a slowdown in the processing layers above TCP in TMM. It may help to increase the TCP proxy buffer size or enable proxy buffer size auto-tuning in the TCP settings for the connection that is sending the data out of TMM, or decrease other upper layer protocol parsing within TMM.
