Historical Sessions Dashboard

The Historical Sessions dashboard helps the administrators troubleshoot and report the historical sessions such as closed or failed sessions.

Follow these steps to configure and verify the closed and failed Sessions:

  1. Log in to the BIG-IP Next Central Manager. Navigate to the Go to Security Workspace > Security > Monitoring > Access Dashboards path.

  2. On the Access Dashboards page, click the Sessions tab.

  3. Administrators can access and view the sessions page to analyse the BIG-IP central manager processed historical sessions such as closed and established VPN sessions of various client applications.

  4. To obtain the details of an instance, select All Instances or any specific instance from the drop-down list.

  5. Select the required timeframe from the list. Available timeframe options are Last 1 hour, Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, and Last 30 days. Administrators can use the slider bar to further filter established and closed sessions.

  6. On the Sessions tab, the Session State area displays the established and closed VPN session values.

  7. Click the Established sessions’ value to view the specific number of established VPN sessions for the selected time frame in the Sessions Over Time area.

  8. Click the Closed sessions’ value to view the specific number of closed VPN sessions for the selected time frame in the Sessions Over Time area.

  9. On the Sessions tab, the Top Applications area displays the details of the application and the number of sessions established or closed to the current.

  10. On the Sessions Over Time area, click the Total Sessions to view the total number of sessions for the selected timeframe. The total number of vertical bar graphs indicates the total number of sessions available for the specified timeframe.

  11. Click the Allow option to view the filtered list of allowed sessions.

  12. Click the Error option to view the filtered list of failed sessions.

  13. Click the Denied option to view the filtered list of Denied sessions.

  14. On the Session page, click the required session ID to analyze the session variables and troubleshoot the sessions.

  15. When the specific VPN session needs to be closed, click the Terminate Session option. The session is closed.
