Minimum installation requirements#
Introduction#
To install Aspen Mesh, you must meet the following minimum requirements.
Required minimum resources#
Running Aspen Mesh in its default configuration with a simple microservice application requires the following minimum resources:
Resource |
Quantity |
---|---|
Worker nodes |
5 |
CPUs per node |
4 |
Memory per node |
8 GiB |
If you’re enabling tracing, running logging solutions, adding production workloads, or otherwise adding additional load, you must scale out your Kubernetes cluster appropriately.
Be aware of the Kubernetes best practices for scaling master nodes alongside worker nodes. When using a managed Kubernetes offering, keep in mind any cloud-provider restrictions. For example, EKS Kubernetes limits the number of pods per node based on the EC2 instance type. Aspen Mesh in its default configuration is composed of approximately 25 pods.
