F5 AppWorld Lab - TMOS Architecture

This two-hour hands-on lab will guide participants through the architectural fundamentals of the BIG-IP TMOS operating system and learn the basic building blocks for all other BIG-IP solutions. Attendees will gain practical experience in understanding, deploying, configuring, and managing the basic configurable elements in TMOS which is the core component of the BIG-IP Application Delivery & Security Platform. By the end of the lab, participants will have a deeper understanding on the architecture of TMOS and design principles, core structure of the configurable objects, and how they are able to work together to deliver your critical business and mission critical applications in an enterprise environment.

Objectives:

  1. Understand TMOS core components

  2. Understand packet flows

  3. Identify and configure virtual objects

  4. Understand statistics and analytics

  5. Understand High Availability and Device Service Clusters (DSC)

Prerequisites:

  • Laptop with Internet Access and a web browser.

  • Ability to disable VPN connection on laptop if you cannot use https to udf.f5.com.
